A brief overview of what we are all about
Effective immediately the Creation Station will no longer be a battery drop off site. Welcome... The Creation Station is located at 200 Museum Dr (lower level of Impression 5 Science Center, our entrance is on the North side of the building) in Lansing, Michigan. This all-volunteer run, nonprofit organization provides scrap materials that educators, parents, artists, childcare providers, youth organizations or the We are also a recycling drop off site for cell phones and tennis shoes. Our Beginnings...The idea originated with the Boston Children Museum's innovative art-supply outlet. The goal was to help maximize teachers' resourses by providing low-cost project materials. Born out of the alternative education and environmental movements of the 70’s, interest in re-using scrap and disposable materials has gained momentum in recent years as partial solutions to both solid waste disposal issues and to dwindling educational resources. |
Mission Statement...Our mission is to develop and sustain an innovative partnership among educational, environmental groups, the artistic community, and business and industry, which provides a public outlet for the reuse of scrap materials, while enhancing educational resources and fostering creativity and environmental awareness.
