Mestizo Anishnabe Health Alliance: MAHA

Mission Statements
CIRCLE Mission

The Circle of Indigenous Races for Community, Leadership & Empowerment (CIRCLE) is an ethnic alliance of Native American (Anishnabe) and Chicano/Latino business and community members. The CIRCLE is dedicated to unifying peoples committed to empowering the alliance of the American Indian and Chicano/Latino (our Indigenous) communities in the Greater Lansing Metropolitan Area for the purposes of promoting political participation and influencing public policy that improves the quality of life and general well-being of our respective communities throughout the State of Michigan. This mission statement was adopted November 10, 1993.

CIRCLE is the parent organization to the Mestizo Anishnabe Health Alliance (MAHA) created in March 2000 to improve the health status of our Indigenous community.

MAHA Mission

To promote a healthy Anishnabe and Chicano/Latino community through collaboration among stakeholders of the healthcare system and our indigenous community with special considerations of cultural and linguistic factors affecting our health status.
