Help for posting news
To add a news item:
- Log in
- Go to the News folder (located on the right side navigation, and only visible after logging in).
- From the drop down menu "add a new item" select news item.
- Fill in the required fields.
- Select the state as publish.
Why make a news item?
News items are commonly used in Web sites to display news that’s of interest to the reader. Actually, a news item contains the same information as a document. The only real difference is that a news item will show up when a visitor clicks the news tab (once the item is published).
If I wanted to write a Web page that was going to be relevant for a long period of time, such as directions to my organization’s office, I’d use a document. If I wanted a page that detailed my exciting new product and drew attention to it, I’d use a news item. That news item would be visible under the news tab, and as new things happened, it’d slowly move down the page.
