CACMC and the Compassion Capital Fund :: Media Capacity Building
Capital Area Community Media Center and the Compassion Capital Fund Workshop Series
The Capital Area Community Media Center is serving as the media and web development arm of the capacity building team for the 2007 Compassion Capital Fund.
The Power of We Consortium (www.powerofwe.org) created a capacity building program for Faith based and community organizations (FBCOs) serving Ingham County that includes specialized training, hands-on technical assistance (i.e., mentoring or coaching), and $280,000 in capacity building grants. To learn more about the capital compassion fund, visit the Power of We organization’s capacity building page.
The PWC is currently providing all eligible applicants – whether they were selected to receive grants and technical assistance or not – access to over $500 worth of training workshops, unique networking opportunities, a free web site, web site development training, and grant writing training. The CACMC is providing one on one consulting to the 25 CCF recipient organizations to address their media and communication needs. The CACMC will also be facilitating workshops designed to increase the media capacity of FBCO’s, with an emphasis on web development. 2 of the workshops will be open to all applicant organizations, and the remaining will be open to the 25 CCF organizations.
